Demo on the way
As a fan of death game/escape room/mystery-type games, I've always wanted to try my hand at making my own. This summer, I dropped my inhibitions and started coding up my own!
Enter the Nightfall Gallery is a VN/adventure game hybrid. In short:
In the city of Las Perlas, the Nightfall Gallery is an esteemed establishment whose exhibitions are typically reserved for the upper crust. But young Serena Silva has the opportunity to see a show for herself, despite being a fish out of water among the distinguished guests.
However, upon entering the exhibit room, the guests find themselves in an unexpected establishment with seemingly no escape. An unknown force controls the gallery, distorting it into a house of puzzles, shadows, and ever-waning trust. Mysterious messages written on their palms guide them along the way. Serena can take advantage of her own precognitive abilities, but the drawbacks may eventually outweigh the benefits.
Reputation, intelligence, strength, intimidation, clairvoyance... what will prevail in a dire situation?
I've been working on this project throughout the summer, and the demo keeps creeping closer and closer to completion.
Right now, I'm focusing my efforts on varying sprite expressions (ATM everyone more or less wears the same face throughout the demo) and plugging in appropriate sound effects. I'm also trying to trick some friends into playtesting.
I'm hoping to release the game's demo by the end of summer (i.e. by the time I go back to school). I'm planning on releasing individual chapters as I finish them, but it'll probably be... quite a while... until this game reaches capital-c Completion.
I'm excited to share this with everyone!
